Fable Chapter Four Benrinnes 2009 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml (ABV 60.2%)

Introduction

The Benrinnes distillery is featured in Chapter 4 and its a heavier, more full-flavoured experience than your typical Speyside single malt.

In active American Oak casks, this complex whisky develop over time and evolves into a brilliantly robust single malt. Its no surprise that Benrinnes is highly regarded by blenders here in Scotland.

Nose – Bitter tangerine peel, dark chocolate, cold brew coffee, yeast, almost meaty with some slightly tart white wine. Pencil shavings, toasted oak and spices on the back end – cinnamon.

Palate – Benrinnes carries weight and the nutty style is really clear on the palate. Fruit notes dance around the savoury qualities providing great contrasts and complexities.

Finish – A touch of spiced oak in the back. A medium finish with hints of tropical fruit and rich warm malty tones.
