Introduction

Whisky Sponge Edition No.4 is an exclusive limited edition for Australia. It is a 13 year old, 2009 Ardmore matured in refill hogshead cask.

This is a lovely dram which displays many of the gently old school, distillate-forward attributes which are often overlooked about Inchgower as a whisky. Expect soft waxes, green and yellow fruity flavours.

Nose – Herbal peat smoke with some medicine underneath, wood spice, smoked teas and earthier tones.

Palate – Sharper and ashier, evolving to lemon rind, mineral oils, peppery warmth, wood smoke, with a wonderful fatty mouth-coating texture.

Finish – Quite long, still on the drier smoky tones, lemon peel, more smoked teas again, with a touch of the herbal/medicinal peat in the aftertaste.
