Benrinnes 15YO 2006 (SMOS) Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml (ABV 55.5%)

Introduction

Elixir Distillers is an independent bottler that released The Single Malts of Scotland range in 2002. This range consists of vintage single malt Scotch whiskies selected for their individual quality and character. Along with the classic single cask collection, the range includes the Director’s Special series personally selected by Sukhinder Singh, as well as two small-batch collections: the accessible Reserve Casks and the more mature Marriage of Casks.

This single malt was distilled at Benrinnes distillery in 2006 and aged for more than 15 years in a single hogshead, yielding a total of 270 bottles.

Nose – Initially, white-chocolate-covered salted caramels. Hot, frothy almond milk sweetened with light brown sugar. Wonderful, sweet, creamy and custardy aromas.

Palate – Caramel-apple doughnuts are rolled in sugar. Squares of white chocolate millionaires shortbread – a buttery biscuit crumb base is topped with a decadently thick layer of soft caramel and finished with a coating of white chocolate.

Finish – Set vanilla custard and creamy butterscotch remain on until the very end.
