Introduction

Knocknarea is the second expression from Athr and an exceptional single malt. Knocknarea takes its name from the monolithic mountain to the west of Sligo town which is the final resting place of the legendary warrior Queen Maeve.

Aged for 11 years in American oak casks and finished for 3 years in the finest Oloroso sherry casks.

Nose – Fresh Laundry, Pencils, Sandalwood, and Cedar.

Palate – Raisins, Brown Sugar, Mince Pies and Caramel.

Finish – Pepper and Cigar box medium length.
