Introduction

The PHOIBOS LEVIATHAN Bronze PY027C 500M LE is a beautiful diverwith an impressive NH38 movement inside, which is visible through the open heart at 9 o’clock. The most obvious perk of the watch is the material: it’s entirely made from solid CuSn8bronze. Bronze has the great attribute that it builds up a layer of patina. This is an ongoing process which makes every watch unique. Discolouration is normal with this material. One major benefit is that you can largely bring back your watch in the original condition by using a Cape Cod cloth.

As the name suggests, the inspiration for this collection is Leviathan, a huge sea monster in ancient mythology. Leviathan can also be immensely useful as a general term meaning “something monstrous or of enormous size.” This meaning is reflected in the large case dimensions, as the watch has a 45mm width and 54mm lug to lug size. In other words, it has serious wrist presence!

It hosts a stunning black textured dial and with its 500m water resistance and anti-reflective sapphire glass, you can rely on the watch’s robustness. It also comes on a comfortableblack leather strap,but can be swapped out for a rubber strap which comes along with the package if rubber is preferred.
